Reputation for Reliability Works for Hood Equipment

As service manager for Hood Equipment, Brian Kruk’s main concern is ensuring his customers’ equipment is running at full capacity all year round. Based in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Hood Equipment sells and services Hyundai excavators and forestry equipment, as well as Terex rock trucks and other equipment for mining, landscape, and construction contractors across Ontario. As they continue to sell more and more equipment in to their local market, Brian and his crew are travelling further from the branch to effectively service customer equipment in the field. When it came time to add a second mechanics service truck to their fleet, Brian found himself looking locally for ideas on where to build their next work truck.

Several local contractors operating their own service trucks in the Thunder Bay area suggested that Brian contact Work Truck West in Langley, BC to see if they could work with him on a new truck solution within his timeline and budget. Despite the 3,000 km distance, Brian had no trouble working with the sales team to develop a service truck package with a 5,000 lb crane, hydraulic air compressor system, and a cabinet heater and power inverter package. “We were referred to Work Truck West by some local contacts, and had good experiences in the past with the IMT brand of service bodies,” said Brian. “The design and build process went smoothly with their team and we had the truck delivered and outfitted as specified in a very reasonable time.” Looking to the future, the new service truck will help to increase their capabilities to service customers near and far. “The new truck will help us provide reliability and dependability wherever we need to service our customers.”
